Tunda Vase (sold)

The Tunda terracotta vase is part of the ‘Sisters’ series by the designer Valentina Cameranesi Sgroi, which plays with the elaborate nuptial vases traditionally gifted to young brides in Sardinia. The vases are made by Walter Usai, a fifth-generation potter in the small town of Assemini, famous for its traditional ceramic production. Walter's particular style is rooted in the sensuality of the shapes and the inimitable texture created through details. Inspired by the strong presence of flirtatious decoration in Sardinian ceramics, Valentina has created a duo - Marria (slender) and Tunda (shapely). The original shape of the Tunda vase is both exalted and transformed: paying homage to the tradition with a contemporary interpretation. The vase combines femininity and playfulness, with a modern and mechanical touch.
