Anulare Vase (sold)

The ‘Anulare’ vase is part of the Abba Est Vira [Water Is Life] collection, which represents the ways that tradition is conserved and adapted in a world in transformation. The vessel’s fantastic and sensual shape—punctuated by a large hole in the center—is inspired by the classic circular vase that was worn by Roman soldiers around their shoulders while marching. Originally produced in white, the vase is available in a deep orange colour exclusively on the Metamorphoses platform. The vase is designed by Pretziada, a creative practice based in Sardinia, that promotes the heritage of the island in collaboration with local artisans. The ‘Annulare’ vase is made by Elvio Usai, a fourth-generation potter from Assemini. Elvio has been making many of the shapes in the ‘Abba Est Vira’ collection since he began working in the family workshop as a child, moulding utilitarian receptacles into decorative forms that are simultaneously timeless and deeply rooted in Sardinian history.
